The homeowners wanted a powder room that felt like Hawaii. PROBLEMS: The original bath room was reminiscent of the 1970s. The opened door hit the countertop, making access difficult.
CREATIVE SOLUTIONS: The remodeled powder room features a cantilevered glass countertop, a custom vessel lavatory that looks like Manua Kea, slate flooring (cooled magma), and lush wall finish (torn tissue paper over real leaves, glazed a rain forest green color). Dimmable LED sconces look like tiki torches. Orchid plants and bronze dolphin sculpture are perfect accessories for the Hawaiian theme. This bathroom won regional and national awards, and has been featured in three magazine articles.
TESTIMONIAL: “My husband and I first discovered D. P. Design at a home remodeling show. After our first meeting, I reviewed Diane’s work and I hired her to help us redesign three bathrooms. Six months later, I had the most beautiful and functional bathrooms imaginable, with minimal disruption in our life. Two of the bathrooms won remodeling awards. I referred D. P. Design to three of my colleagues for their projects. For me and my colleagues, very complex problems were solved to our amazement and complete satisfaction. The results were absolutely stunning and extremely functional.
