Award for Best New Home, built in Oregon CityThe new home in Oregon City designed by Diane Plesset, CMKBD, C.A.P.S., won the Home Builders’ Association Award. This retro-modern bathroom is on the second floor, adjacent to three rooms used for in-home offices and space for a future elevator. It was designed to be low maintenance and visually appealing, and features coordinating porcelain tiles for shower walls, wainscot, and flooring. The husband set all of the tiles. For the murals, Diane provided a full-scale plan that included the grout joints. The wall-hung lavatory with towel bar allows installation at the most convenient height. The bathroom has a generous shower. There’s a toilet and washlet, and the room is enhanced by a low-relief framed tile mural featuring evergreen trees in a rural setting.
