West Linn Kitchen Before and After

PROBLEMS: For several years, the homeowners were told that to achieve what they wanted, their kitchen would require a major addition to compensate for all of the angled walls and odd corners. The builder admittedly ran out of money and installed modular cabinets and medium-grade appliances.

CREATIVE SOLUTIONS: All angles were designed for maximum use, including a wasted corner that became the new wine room adjacent to the main hallway. Only one corner of the kitchen (9 square feet!) was added to accommodate the new sliding patio door. The bonus achieved was a spectacular view of Mt. Hood and the valley!

The remodeled kitchen has a professional gas cooktop and upscale hood, a dedicated refrigerator and dedicated freezer, a double oven, and a microwave-convection oven. There’s an ice maker and a plumbed espresso machine in the butler’s pantry, and an under-counter wine refrigerator in the area that was a desk in the original kitchen. Custom cherry cabinets are loaded with storage accessories, and the travertine floors complement the warm color scheme. This remodeled kitchen in West Linn is perfect for daily use by the family, or great for a large catered party.
