The original 1970s kitchen was unappealing, but new owners loved the townhouse and its location. They wanted a contemporary European-looking kitchen that expressed their lifestyle and taste.

PROBLEMS: There was no convenient storage in the kitchen. The eating area was small. Dark floor tile had been used throughout the main level.

CREATIVE SOLUTIONS: The kitchen has custom maple cabinets and table that were stained yellow and gray. The imported cooktop and hood are centered between the double ovens and the built-in refrigerator, with lots of cabinet storage. The new “dog leg” island has lots of room for storage and food preparation, in addition to a display niche for collectibles. The adjacent laundry room now has custom pantry cabinets and a comfortable menu-message center. The former closet (a waste of space!) was converted into a wine bar with lit display for glasses. Ten months after purchasing the townhouse, the family moved into their contemporary European dream, with limestone floors and all of their favorite colors.

TESTIMONIAL: Diane and I spent two weeks shopping for all of the products for our new home before I went back to Germany. She made it possible to work with my husband and me over long distance. Her communication skills and attention to all of the details helped us achieve the unique transformation we wanted in every room of our new home. She worked with the contractor to make everything ready for us, with no problems.
