Northwest Portland Kitchen Remodel Before and After

Image 1 of 1

A retired couple wanted a bright new functional kitchen with more storage. They wanted to enjoy the time spent with their grown children and grandchildren.

PROBLEMS: The kitchen felt dark. The downdraft cooktop was on the island. A pantry closet used a lot of valuable floor space and made the kitchen feel smaller than it was.

CREATIVE SOLUTIONS: New alder cabinets helped the room to feel lighter. The pantry was moved around the corner, under the stairs, so the cooktop and hood could be moved adjacent to the island. A dedicated pantry was added next to the refrigerator, and all of the base cabinets were designed with storage accessories like rollouts and special drawers.

LED strip lighting was added above the cabinets for indirect lighting and below the wall cabinets for indirect and task lighting. The remodeled kitchen feels like a happy place to be with the family! See more information about this project in my blog!
