Design is here to help you — and not just initially (to get you to “sign on the dotted line” like other companies).  Your lifetime comfort and safety, and enjoyment of your home are the most important things to you, and they’re the most important things to me.

Do you have doubts or fears about your improvement or remodeling investment? Do you understand the home remodeling-improvement process?  Do you have confusion about how to make decisions?  Are you undecided about hiring a contractor?  Are you thinking about acting as your own general contractor, or doing the work yourself?   Any one of these challenges can potentially stop you in your tracks, before you begin.  Following is a comprehensive breakdown of design services available to you:

D. P. Design  FREE Consultation Services:

  Have a 45-minute phone consultation (specifically about your home improvement or remodeling; guaranteed, no “sales pitch”)

  Schedule an in-home consultation (to qualified homeowners only, within a 50-mile radius from Oregon City), usually 1.5 – 2 hours.  Please call or e-mail for traveling charges beyond the 50-mile radius

Talk about what changes are desired during the home improvement-remodeling project, and homeowners’ preferences

  Preview project area and adjacent rooms and talk about architectural challenges

  View home’s exterior and building systems affected by the remodeling-improvement

  Look at pictures and samples collected by Homeowner(s)

Talk about project investment and timeline

  Answer questions about how D. P. Design works, etc., and review portfolio

  Give a FREE copy of “THE Survival Guide: Home Remodeling” (value: $29.95)

  Send a detailed written Proposal, within three business days after in-home consultation:

  Specific information about the project, i.e., “Homeowner Wish List”

  D. P. Design services included

  D. P. Design services not included

  Total not-to-exceed fee for all included design and consulting services

  Payment schedule

  Send a follow-up e-mail and call homeowners one week after Proposal is received.

Hourly Consultation Services:

D. P. Design offers reasonably-priced in-home consultation, for homeowners to get ideas and recommendations about home improvements, including in-home offices and remodeling projects.  The meeting is recapped in a written report which is included in the consultation fee.  Traveling time may be added to the consultation fee, which will be confirmed when the meeting is scheduled.  Hourly consultation does not include detailed design or drafting services.

Design and Consultation Services:

D. P. Design offers the most comprehensive, personalized home improvement and remodeling design services, to help homeowners every step of the way, until the successful completion of the project.  It’s a personal and professional commitment to excellence.

   Take measurements of project area and adjacent areas that might be affected (1/16″ tolerance).

  Take reference photographs of project area and adjacent areas (including exterior).

  Prepare as-built plans, accurate to 1/16″.

  Prepare proposed plans, elevations, and perspectives.

  Prepare details and specifications.

  Recommend contractors and engineers for the project (NOTE:  D. P. Design does not pay or receive “referral fees”!).

  Recommend products and suppliers (NOTE:  D. P. Design does not sell products, because it is a potential conflict of interest).

NOTE:  IF I MAKE A RECOMMENDATION AND DO NOT OFFER A REASON, YOU WILL GET ONE FREE HOUR OF CONSULTATION, DESIGN, OR DRAFTING!

  Prepare product spreadsheets to help homeowners maintain the budget and make informed decisions.

  Educate homeowners about the process, the logical steps, and the timeline.

  Meet with homeowners at least once a week, to discuss plans, products, investment, contractor(s), and details:

  At the jobsite

  At D. P. Design’s office

  At the jobsite and D. P. Design’s office (electronic “virtual” meeting)

  At a mutually-convenient location

  Communicate with Homeowners, contractors, and suppliers via phone and/or e-mail between meetings with project updates, reminders, and information.

  Transmit plans, elevations, spreadsheets and other information electronically, to obtain estimates and to help homeowners make decisions.  After the final plans are approved, provide design plans to homeowners and  contractors for permits and construction.

  Be available to answer questions by phone, e-mail, or in special jobsite meetings.

  Work with homeowners, contractors and suppliers through completion of the project. 

  Resolve project problems fairly and equitably.
