To achieve the status of a fully-certified designer requires years of dedication: education, experience, and passing examinations to prove competency in the profession. But it goes way beyond that, when all of those years are focused on helping homeowners achieve the best possible building and remodeling results. It may be difficult for you to think about enjoying your building or remodeling project, when you’re overwhelmed just thinking about everything you want to achieve, and making hundreds of important decisions. Your goal is just to get through the process. My goal as a designer is to help you not only get through it, but to actually enjoy it! How is that possible?

We all get overwhelmed and frustrated if we don’t understand what’s going on, and what’s going to happen next. You need to have honest information that you can rely on, to make good decisions. You need to have good reasons for those decisions. I will provide everything you need, because I understand how you feel. Why? Because I’ve been the designer and facilitator for hundreds of homeowners whose initial feelings are similar to yours.

Humanity: You’re not alone in your home improvement journey.

You’re intelligent, and I guarantee to treat you with respect. If this is your first building or remodeling project, you’re embarking on a trip into unknown territory. You know where you want to end up. You know there will be challenges, but no one has taken the time to break things down and talk with you about your journey. I am offering to walk with you every step of the way, to help you find the best path, and warn you about unforeseen hazards, as your personal designer, facilitator, and advocate. You will be treated as an intelligent person with real needs, and a real budget.

Your investment (and the value you get) is important to me. This is the reason I established D. P. Design 28 years ago. I could not, and will not, make a false statement to entice anyone to spend more money or do something I feel strongly is against their best interest. Growing up in a “mom ‘n pop” grocery store instilled the importance of good value for every penny invested. Every purchase must fall in line with the total budget, and there must be good reasons for every purchasing decision.
