Dedication and Passion Makes the Difference

Diane has been the principal of D. P. Design for 25 years. In that time, she has earned the respect of her peers and her clients, for dedication to professional integrity, outstanding creativity, and attention to details. She is driven by a passion for helping others.

Since graduating with multiple degrees (interior design, bath design, and kitchen design), Diane embarked on a mission to offer personalized design and consulting services. But that wasn't enough. She yearned to help more people have successful results, offering seminars and classes, which led to the publication of her award-winning book, "THE Survival Guide: Home Remodeling". The book allowed her to help thousands of homeowners, many of them writing to tell Diane how much time, effort, and money she has saved them. Using all technological tools available, she offers solutions for your building and remodeling project. In other words, "You" is the most important word in her vocabulary. She understands Your needs, Your budget, and Your goals.

Earning credentials and winning awards is one way that Diane can prove that she's qualified to help you. In the 25 years since establishing D. P. Design, Diane has earned many certifications and awards, including:
  • Certified Master Bath-Kitchen Designer (National Kitchen and Bath Association)
  • National Council for Interior Design Qualification #13029
  • Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (National Association of Home Builders)
  • "Chrysalis" Awards for several remodeling projects
  • "Contractor of the Year" Awards for multiple remodeling projects
  • "Best of the Best" Award for an interior addition
  • "Master Design" Award for a kitchen remodeling project
  • "Excellence" Award for best new home in its category

The passion for helping people create beautiful, safe, and functional environments has motivated Diane throughout her successful career. Her articles and projects have been featured in "Gentry," "Designer's Illustrated," "San Jose Mercury News," San Mateo Times," "San Francisco Chronicle," "Homes and Gardens of the Northwest," "The Oregonian," "Kitchen and Bath Business," "Kitchen and Bath News," and "Ava Living". The revised edition of Diane's book, "THE Survival Guide: Home Building and Remodeling" will be available soon as an e-book, so information can be updated dynamically as technology and trends change. She is excited to share the latest information about Sustainable ("Green") Building and Remodeling, and Aging-in-Place (a.k.a. universal design) guidelines that are applicable to all ages.

Diane is an avid fan of Frank Lloyd Wright, and worked to save the only Wright-designed home in Oregon seven years ago (The Gordon House). Her studies of Mr. Wright's architectural philosophy have influenced her work as a bath-kitchen specialist and certified interior designer. She strives to achieve organic balance and architectural integrity in all projects, while working to achieve your objectives. She loves all aspects of a creative life: playing classical music, painting, gardening, cooking and entertaining, flower arranging, and writing.
